Minecraft’s long-awaited wild update arrives in June

The waiting time Minecraft 1.19 (opens in new tab) the update is almost over. After keeping quiet about the timeline this year, Mojang has just announced that the wild update will arrive on June 7, just a week and a half away. I figured the recent pre-release builds were a signal we would soon hear about a specific date, but it’s even earlier than I expected, giving a good start to the summer surprise.

Mojang summarizes the highlights of the 1.19 update in its message blog posts (opens in new tab). This marks the final destination for several Minecraft features that had been pushed from last year. First announced in 2020’s Minecraft Live, the giant and horrific Warden mobs and their Deep Dark cinema home were originally planned as part of the C21 & Cliffs update in 2021, which was then split into two updates and then slipped further into the Wild. Update.
