Back last week, Google officially unveiled Android 13 and its goodies along with Pixel 6a and other products. During the event, the company also announced the expansion of the Android 13 Beta application to more devices. The company has built a solid partnership with some Android OEMs to offer Android 13 beta prior to full release. As a result, many non-Google smartphone users can already enjoy Android 13 and check out what’s coming with the new update.
However, this update may not be close to the final product that they will see on these third-party smartphones. After all, many companies have their own skins to put over the pure Android. This year, a total of 12 Android OEMs are joining the Android 13 Beta section. The big change here is that TCL is gone and now Lenovo is putting itself in its place.
About 22 devices can already get a “taste” of Android 13
Since it can be a difficult task to cover current “Android” versions and an unfinished upcoming version, some brands tend to add only one device to this application. However, there are still some who are able to deliver builds for multiple products. Anyway, the current amount of devices that can already enjoy Android 13 beta is 22. It may not be an impressive number when we take the number of Android smartphones in the market, but it is still a solid number. Unfortunately, connecting to Android 13 beta does not mean faster updates for some of these OEMs.
Clearly, Google is participating in the app with a larger number of products getting Android 13 beta. Currently, 8 Google Pixels smartphones are part of the application. The search giant is followed by Xiaomi 3 devices consisting of two smartphones and a tablet. Another Chinese brand is Oppo, which has the beta for one device and its only foldable smartphone. The other companies are Asus, Lenovo, HMD, OnePlus, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, Vivo and ZTE. The list of devices that are part of the Android 13 beta includes:
- Pixel 4
- 4 XL
- Pixel 4a
- 4a 5G
- Pixel 5
- 5a
- 6
- 6 Pro
