Casetify has just opened the waiting list for its first ever Star Wars collection, due to be released on May 4th. We tested a couple of the products early on, including a couple of iPhone covers.

Enter a new world of design

The collection, scheduled to launch on “Star Wars day”, includes a wide range of products. Casetify will have watch straps, AirPods covers, wireless chargers, iPad covers and more available.

Before the launch, we checked two covers for iPhone 13 Pro and a magnetic wireless charger.

iPhone case

Casetify has historically produced high quality cases, which is what we have here. The cases do not feel different from the typical Casetify case. They have rubberized sides with a matte finish, and the company also highlights that its cases are made from 50% recycled material.

Around the camera module, there are two Casetify word markers in clear white – an integral part of the company’s design. All buttons are covered, as is the bottom.

Many of Casetify’s cases are made by printing on a blank backing. We have seen Casetify collaborate with countless brands such as Coca-Cola, Mickey Mouse, USPS and Pokemon. Here we have two of the six Star Wars iPhone covers styles to test.

Millennium Falcon sag

The first of the pair is a dark version of the Millennium Falcon. It appears that the case itself has a reflective silver package with black overlay. This creates a small 3D effect where Falcon’s schemes shine like metal. We also have the iconic Star Wars logo in gold at the bottom.

The second of the two cases celebrates Jedi’s Return, the third film produced in the original trilogy that hit the screens in 1983. The case has a stylized version of the original film poster that melts into the background.

Much of the case is transparent with glittering star-like bits of mica everywhere. It will look great on any iPhone, but we love how it looks with our Sierra Blue colorway.

Some of these cases support Apple’s MagSafe technology, so they can be used with MagSafe chargers, wallets, and racks. Of our two, the Falcon case works with MagSafe, while the Return of the Jedi model does not.

Magnetic charger

Speaking of magnetic charging, Casetify has two Qi chargers that magnetically connect to your phone. They have been equipped with their own Star Wars graphics, including Death Star.

We have the Death Star model, and it could not fit better. It’s the perfect graphic to print on the round charger and looks great when connected to your phone. You can use it without a case or with any MagSafe-enabled case – such as those from Casetify.

Since it is a Qi charger, it only charges at 7.5W on iPhones, instead of the maximum 15W MagSafe offers. It is powered via USB-C and has a nice nylon braided cable that matches. Ours has a repeated white and black pattern.

It has a black silicone pad on the non-printed side to help hold on to our iPhone, which we found useful during the test. It grips easily as much as Apple’s MagSafe puck.

Need to buy Casetify’s Star Wars cases?

We’re big Star Wars fans, and we love these things. They have amazing original works of art that look incredible. We are well aware of how durable and reliable Casetify’s cases are, so we’re glad they’ve partnered with Disney and Lucasfilm on these designs.

The magnetic charger is nice, but we’ll probably stick to the faster MagSafe chargers whenever possible. If you’re ok with sacrificing a little speed for the style, it’s not a bad option to add to your shopping cart.
