Chivalry 2 finally hits Steam in June along with the huge “Tenosian Invasion” expansion

Get your brave knight ready, because after almost a year as the exclusive Epic Games Store on PC, multiplayer slash ’em up Chivalry 2 is on its way to Steam in early June. The Steam launch will coincide with the “Tenosian Invasion” expansion, which promises to be by far the biggest update made by Toronto-based Torn Banner Studios to date. You can watch a quick teaser trailer for Tenosian Invasion below.

Dead Space Remake locks in an early release date in 2023, new gameplay shows

Here is Torn Banner’s basic Tenosian Invasion description …

Tenosian Invasion (Patch 2.5) brings warriors to a new war theater with the Tenosian faction, two huge Team Objective cards, two Team Deathmatch cards and more! Ride in war on horseback with a brand new mounted combat system, plus – console players can now join players on all platforms with the new console server browser!

… Meanwhile, a PC Gamer preview offers a little more detail on what to expect.

  • An entirely new faction, the titular Tenosians, who are inspired by Middle Eastern civilizations, especially the Ottomans. Of course, the new faction will come with a host of new cosmetics.
  • Four new cards titled Desert (deathmatch), The Razing of Askandir (lens), The Breach of Baudwyn (lens), and finally, The Charge of Wardenglade (deathmatch with horseys!)
  • PC features are now coming to consoles, including the ability to browse servers.
  • And perhaps most importantly, the addition of mounted combat. It was time that the series about knights hacking each other to pieces got it! Archery, melee attacks, specials and more can now be launched from horseback. You will also be able to grab a lance and take part in some classic duel action.

Chivalry 2 is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4 and PS5. The Tenosian Invasion update and the ability to play on Steam will both launch on June 12th.
