As part of CD Project’s latest earnings release today, the company announced new sales figures for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and both add up to massive numbers.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, meanwhile, has now sold 40 million copies. The entire Witcher series has moved 65 million + units since the series’ debut in 2007. The PS5 and Xbox Series X | S version of The Witcher 3 were recently delayed indefinitely after CD Project Red took over the development from Saber.

Specifically for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Project CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said the company believes in the game’s “long-term potential” despite its poor start. In 2021, the company was primarily focused on improving the game. Now the studio is “pleased” with the state of the game and encouraged by the response to the newly launched PS5 and Xbox Series X | S version, it says. An expansion is on the way.

In terms of specific figures, CD Project earned PLN 888 million ($ 207 million) in revenue and a profit of PLN 209 million ($ 49 million) in 2021. These figures are massively lower than 2020 figures, which included PLN 2.14 billion ($ 500). million)) in revenue and PLN 1.15 billion ($ 268 million) in profits, but that makes sense given the impact of Cyberpunk 2077’s release.

“Over the past few years, we have established a solid financial backbone that ensures our independence and enables further growth of our group,” the company said.

For upcoming projects, CD Project is currently developing the next Witcher game, which will run on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5. For more, check out GameSpot’s listing of all the Unreal Engine 5 games below.
