EA Sports reveals release date and new features for the F1 2022 game

Video players can try out the new generation of cars when the F1 2022 is launched by EA Sports on July 1st.

The creators of the game have announced that as well as the introduction of the Miami Grand Prix, which takes place for the first time on May 8, a redefined race day experience can be enjoyed in terms of broadcast, formation lap, Safety Car and pit-stop features.

Updates to the circuits in Australia, Spain and Abu Dhabi have also been incorporated, further enhancing the lifelike experience of virtually driving cars designed for the new era of Formula 1 rules.

Another new aspect is F1 Life, a customizable hub where players can display their collection of supercars, clothing and accessories earned through gameplay, Podium Pass and the in-game brand store.

“We look forward to welcoming our players to the new era of Formula 1,” said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, the company that had been the sole developer of the F1 game since 2009, until last year, when they merged with Electronic Kunst.

“Together with the changes in the real world, we have updated the physics to meet the new aero rules and reworked the tire model, making the handling more realistic.

“With new and updated circuits, Adaptive AI, F1 Life and expanded gameplay capabilities, there has never been a better time for players to take a seat and live life as an F1 driver.”

The redefined race day allows players to customize their setup with new Immersive and Broadcast options regarding formation laps, Safety Car periods and pit stops.

Choose Immersive and players will face risk-reward challenges that can be the difference between a spot on the podium or finishing outside the points. Broadcast removes the pressure with controlled and authentic film that keeps players close to the action.

The F1 22 also boasts recurring feature enhancements, including My Team, which allow players to choose their starting budget based on three entry points – Newcomer, Challenger and Front Runner.

It also features its critically acclaimed 10-year career, complete with the possibility of two players, and Multiplayer is back for epic races against the global racing community.

Players can pre-order the Champions Edition now, which includes three days of early entry and a time-limited Miami-inspired content package.
