Elden Ring‘s latest update includes a proper ending to Patches ‘mission, where fans’ favorite NPC rewards players with its iconic pose.
While I was trying today’s bug fixes and balance adjustments, be sure to head back to Limgrave Cave, where you probably first encountered Patches. If you’ve already gotten far enough into his quest before the patch, his little cave in Murkwater Cave should be closed by the game’s boss-teasing golden fog.
Opening the arena’s eye-catching coffin will prompt Patches to attack you again, but this time he quickly recognizes you and surrenders to avoid another slap in the face. Once pacified, he teaches you how to squat low to the ground, and after sitting at a checkpoint, he reopens his store.
Do not say that Patches never gave you anything!
Patches’ history formerly ended at Shaded Castle, a swampy, poisonous fortress located between Mount Gelmir and the Altus Plateau. It also seemed pretty definitive: The guy gave you one last task and seemed to succumb to his mysterious injuries. I guess the dimension-jumping fool still had some struggle left in him after all.
Despite his constant betrayal, the Souls The community can not help but love everything about Patches. The news that his unique pose was added Elden Ring was met with today’s patch with overwhelming positivity from fans, many of whom compare gestures with a posture from the real world known in everyday speech as “Slavic squat”.
“Finally, I can leave ‘Time to Dung’ messages with an appropriate feeling,” wrote a Reddit userand Spotted after my own heart.
Like his lasting legacy as FromSoftware’s pseudo-mascotit seems to Elden Ring players will be stuck with patches for the foreseeable future. Visit him and see what he has to offer.
