One of Elden Ring’s toughest bosses, Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is now automatically self-healing when players call for help.
While healing by herself is one of Malenia’s normal abilities, she is only meant to do so when her attack hits the player. However, a bug in Elden Ring’s latest update apparently means she can self-heal at any point of the match and for no apparent reason.
Elden Ring’s leading Malenia expert Let Me Solo Here discovered the mistake when he was summoned to fight the boss.
His YouTube video makes it clear: Even when there are no players near Malenia, do not mind taking damage from her, chunks of her health bar shoot up again.
Other players have also noticed it where reddit user Demonboy995 said it happened every time he was called in to help fight Malenia.
It is unclear what triggers the healing, but users have assumed that since it only occurs in multiplayer, layers are essentially the reason why Malenia records hits that are not recorded by the players.
The infamous boss may just be looking for his own ways to face Let Me Solo Here, but the now legendary Elden Ring summons, which pops up in other players’ worlds to defeat her with ease.
Patch 1.04 also made it harder to defeat Malenia in other, more conscious ways, as it nerded the spell of Swarm of Flies, which caused major blood loss damage.
In our 10/10 review, IGN said: “The Fire Ring is a massive iteration of what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging battle to an incredibly open world that gives us the freedom to choose our own path.”
