Valve has confirmed this Final Fantasy 14 now works on Steam Deck.
The popular MMO game, which would previously hang at the launch of the launcher, has now been fixed according to the latest patch notes for the Proton experimental branch (via, PCGamesN).
The Proton Compatibility Layer enables Steam Deck to run games that have not been ported to run on the hardware Linux-based operating system.
Although the fix is currently available on the experimental test branch, it should soon be released to the public branch once the stability check has been run.
The patch notes also show a whole host of fixes for other games that were not previously launched, including Age of chivalry, Chrono Cross, Warhammer Vermintideand Resident Evil Revelations 2.
There is also a specific fix for Deathloopwhich crashed after a long period in which the system was suspended, and a correction to Elden Ring which crashed after a long period of gameplay.
Other fixes include issues that prevented video playback in Ghostwire: Tokyo, Knights of Glow, Street Fighter 5, Disintegration, Item 4: No regerts, Solasta: The Master’s Crown, Power Rangers: Battle for the Gridand Room 4: Old sins.

In other news, IO Interactive has added a number of PC-specific features to Hitman 3. The game now supports ray tracing reflections and shadows, Nvidia Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).
