Final Fantasy creator calls Square Enix the price of the $ 11.6k FF6 statue

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has announced Square Enix at the price of a new statue that costs only $ 11.6k (1.48m yen).

The previously announced 1/6 scale figure was unveiled last weekend and is available globally as part of its Masterline series. It has Final Fantasy 6 character Terra Riding Magitek armor.

Sakaguchi responded on Twitter, saying “Isn’t that a little much? Are you okay Square Enix?”, According to several translations shared by Kotaku.

The Masterline series is intended for serious collectors and began with a series of NieR: Automata statues to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary.

But even though the Terra statue looks amazing – it’s incredibly detailed and features adorable Moogles – when even the creator of the series dents the price, it can be a little overpriced.

The statue was created under the supervision of the legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano.

“The mere existence of it and the presence it commands is very impressive,” he said in an advertising video (see above).

“It’s like a fictional world has come true. You will understand exactly what I’re saying when you see it in person. I hope you have the chance to do that one day.”

It seems very unlikely.

Nor is it the first piece of expensive Square Enix merchandise recently unveiled.

For the 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, Square Enix sells handmade glass cups for 77,000 yen per year. pop in Japan – it’s about $ 600 each.

Would you drink from it, or be too scared to touch it?
