Attack patterns
- This boss has lots of Blood Flame and Blood Claw abilities, so you need to make sure you avoid them as blood loss can accumulate quickly and cause massive damage!
- Be sure to take some stretching boluses to relieve blood loss if you get hit. Here is how to find Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook [7] to get this craft recipe on Elden Ring.
- Mogh’s attacks are a bit slow. He will start an attacking move, but the real hit comes later due to its slow animations. When you take this into account, do not scroll immediately when an attack animation starts! Use only a fraction of a moment, anticipate the attack, and then roll.
- Mogh raises his hand to reach a portal; this indicates an upcoming Blood Flame rain attack. When this happens, take some distance and prepare to dodge if he throws Blood Flame after you.
- Keep an eye on Mogh’s right hand movement as it will indicate attack with his three fork. The wooden fork is not what you want to dodge; it’s Mogh’s hand! When you see his hand coming towards you, it’s time to dodge!
- Trident attacks are somewhat delayed, so wait only a fraction of a second to dodge them. Also keep in mind that these attacks cover a large area, and sometimes distance is not enough to avoid them, be prepared to dodge.
- Mogh usually follows a three-hit pattern with his wooden forkso be prepared to dodge several times in a row.
How to get injuries in
- Sometimes when Mogh makes his overhead slam, he can get stuck in a pillar. This does not happen all the time and it is difficult to predict. Nevertheless, it’s the perfect moment to get one or two hits.
- Get very close to Mogh and use Mogh’s Shackle item. This will attach him to the ground so you can get more hits in. You can do this twice during the boss fight.
- You can summon Spirit Ashes and help from other players for this boss match if you need an extra hand. Here are the best Legendary Spirit Ashes in the Fire Ring!
- Mogh makes a shock attack with his three forks. This move leaves him open to a few hits.
- You can also land a few hits after the third trident attack in his combo if you’re close enough.
- Since Magic is somewhat effective against this boss, it’s a good idea to use ranged spells (not fires). Here is all the legendary sorcery and spells in the Fire Ring!
