Gallery: Brand new screenshots of Sonic Origins, out on Switch in June

@XBontendo The MD collection was roms on an emulator with tons of delay, sound issues, etc. This is 4/5 game completely rebuilt from scratch in a modern engine with lots of extras, tweaks and most importantly a ton of unlockable challenges, scoring attacks, time attacks , leaderboards, mirror modes, boss rushes, special stage modes only, etc. Sonic game’s replay power has always been in perfecting your races, so this kind of thing is a HUGE way to make it all so much better in long life for those who really interested in this and have played these games hundreds of times and want to keep doing it in new interesting ways.

$ 44 to me seems like a coup, especially compared to e.g. $ 60 for 3 barely touched rooms on Mario 3D All Stars. (Which I also happily bought since I love the 3 games. I’m not a Mario hater). But of course, your perspective will be on how much you as an individual care about these specific games. From where I stand, this will be the definitive way to play 5 of my favorite games ever – which I bought in the 90’s and have never stopped playing again since. But for someone who is only vaguely interested, a Megadrive rom pack (or NSO expansion pack) might provide better variety to dive in and out of. I also understand that perspective, even though it could not be further from my own, I respect that.
