Here are the three new cars coming to Gran Turismo 7 on April 25th

Gran Turismo 7's April 25 update to include three new cars

After a teaser image is posted online, we think it’s Suzuki Cappuccino, the latest Subaru BRZ and its GT300 racing cousin.

The first new cars post-release for Gran Turismo 7 is coming very soon – Monday, April 25, 2022.

As we have previously reported, server maintenance is planned for Polyphony Digital’s opus to vehicle collection this coming Monday. This usually means that a game update will follow when it’s online again.

Title producer Kazunori Yamauchi today (April 24) tweeted a picture with the silhouette of three cars coming into play. Each is artfully shaded to hide their identity, though not in a way where you at least can not figure out their basis.

The image is attached with the words: “Update coming next week.”

This was an integral part of GT Sport’s lifetime, with Yamauchi last teasing new content this way in July 2021 for the Toyota GR86.

Here are what we think are the three cars coming to Gran Turismo 7 on April 25th. Be sure to tell us in the comments what you think they could be.

Suzuki Cappuccino

Suzuki Cappuccino

Cappuccino, produced for seven years in the 90s, is a diminutive roadster built according to Japan’s Kei car rules that determined its size and engine capacity.

It has a turbocharged 657cc engine with three cylinders, so this will not set any speed records. It will be handy for the Autopolis One Hour Mission recently added to the game as it sits alongside rivals in the game like the Daihatsu Copen, Honda S660 and Honda Beat.

Interestingly, due to its age, we expect that this will not fit into the Brand Central showroom and appear in the cycle of used cars.

Subaru BRZ ZD8

2022 Subaru BRZ

We expect the third car in the dark picture to be the new generation of Subaru BRZ. With the platform-sharing Toyota GR86 already in Gran Turismo 7, the BRZ is listed as part of the upcoming TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup competition in the game.

Putting all of these factors in place results in the ZD8 BRZ arriving at Gran Turismo 7’s Brand Central on April 25th.

Keep in mind that the race version of the same new ZD8 Subaru BRZ will also be available in Gran Turismo 7 after Monday’s update.

This looks to be the race car from 2021 competing in the GT300 category of Japan’s leading motorsport championship – the SUPER GT.

Posted by R&D Sport, number 61 is run by Takuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi. You can almost see their names on the teaser image.

This car will be in the Gr.3 category and compliments the existing Subaru WRC Gr.3 car.

Additional features and track layout

This follows a timeline posted by Yamauchi who explained “… there will be a few additional updates implemented between now and the end of April which will add new cars and track layouts as well as implement some other fixes.”

After the 1 million free credits for all players, the latest additions of new missions and these three new cars confirmed for the 25th, will there also be further game changes and new course layouts tomorrow? We’ll find out in a few hours.
