Here’s the first almost final look at the Pixel Watch and its very curved design

The first almost final image of the Pixel Watch leaked today, and it gives our first look at what should be the final design of Google’s upcoming wearable.

Evan Blass on 91Mobiles shared this afternoon a rendering of the circular watch with a very curved design. The display is probably just the flat surface you see, but Google went a lot up in the glass to extend the curvature all the way to the back (which we can not even see in this image).

The crown also helps to emphasize the seamless design by letting the stem protrude from the glass in a position at three o’clock. Google does not hide the stem by making the silver as the crown, which is also wider – but quite short – and a bit reminiscent of a bottle cap.

Meanwhile, the dial is similar to the ones we previously unveiled in December. There’s the time with a date complication – annoyingly no day – over it and three more below that is clearly taken from Fitbit. There are steps, heart rate and one that probably starts the statistics chart. Everything is colored a yellowish green. The last thing we see is a white dot noticing that you have notifications available.

This leak of the watch case raises a very interesting question: With such an edge-to-edge design, will Google even offer more body colors? When you look at the Pixel Watch frontally, you do not really see the device’s undercarriage. In fact, to help sell the seamless design, it would be better if the body was also black / dark in color. The company could get away with simply offering a single color SKU and really highlight different bands that have not yet been leaked.

There are also questions about how durable this design is.
