How IMC Armories Work in Apex Legends: Get High-Level Theft by Fighting Waves of Ghosts

Brand new for Apex Legends season 13, IMC Armories will be your new favorite spot. You will be able to fall in and get high-level loot – as long as you can defeat the enemy’s ghosts inside. How IMC Armories works in Apex.

As a result of seismic activity on the Storm Point map, caused by the arrival of the shot animal, long-buried IMC Armories, a relic from the border war, have reappeared on the map.

These new locations – four of them in total – give players a whole new experience that allows them to get protection from third parties, engage in PvE battles and get some much-needed prey as a reward.

How to use IMC Armories in Apex Legends

Armories are ‘automated combat support structures’ that contain weapons, as well as hordes of ghosts, originally designed to support pilots.

To use them, you must first approach and a ramp is extended, giving access. You can then use a button inside to ‘activate’ the porch, to access the prey inside. However, this is protected by the ghosts.

Weapons and prey are available in the porch – but so are ghosts guarding it.

After pressing the button, you start a 60-second PvE meeting with Specter. While active, Amory will be locked and inaccessible to other teams, meaning you are protected from third parties while inside.

If you survive for the full 60 seconds, you will be awarded ‘smart loot’ from smart loot bins. This loot is specifically tailored to improve your current loadout, giving you upgrades to what you currently have.

The more ghosts you defeat during the 60 seconds, the more prey you will receive.

To get out of the porch you have two choices – leave the way you came in, or be blown up in the sky for a redistribution.

Why Apex added IMC Armories

We spoke with Samantha Kalman, game designer at Apex Legends, who led the design at IMC Armories.

Samantha emphasized that “beginners in particular will benefit from Armories” because they provide a kind of training area, free from being attacked from all sides and the ability to get some good prey before facing human resistance.

While some players may not be as interested in the PvE side of things, Kalman and the team expect this, and they hope the Armories will give players a sense of choice and decision-making. Either go there early to get your match off to a good start, or use them sparingly, perhaps just when there is a break in the action.

So far, Kalman said, IMC Armories will only be available on the Storm Point map – but the team does not rule out adding them to other maps if they prove to be popular with players.
