Before I got to Malenia, a notoriously tough boss Elden Ring, I had already heard a bit about the player named “Let me solo here”, who – as their name suggests – is fully capable of taking on the two-phase enemy himself. I was surprised to find their summonses last night and even more glad that they had not been quickly summoned by several other players who had read all about their skills (they wear almost nothing for protection and they wear two katanas) . They arrived in my game and it was like watching a celebrity. They even waved. I used my chattering patee and said, “You are beautiful.” We walked into the battlefield together.
I was so excited to have “Let me solo her” in my game that I actually did not let them solo her. Like Bizarro i Sealab 2021, I thought I was helping by sending a couple of Fly Swarm spells into the ring. They immediately left my game in the middle of the match. I was almost instantly removed in the game – and in real life – knowing that I was trying to duo with the solo master. They had even made signs that I should stay back. Why could I not listen to the warning?
After several attempts alone, I fell over their call sign again, and this time I knew I had to stand back and watch them masterfully defeat this boss. The legend of “Let me solo here” is alive and well. Just sit back, relax, and try not to help.
