A report last week sparked talk about the Pixel 6 line and whether it has been a success or a failure. The report, which was possibly a guy who went into 3 carriers in the Midwest and casually chatted with sellers to get their opinions, suggested that no one bought the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro. While that may have been the case in the handful of stores that have been visited, Google wants you to know that this is their fastest selling Pixel to date.
During today’s Alphabet earnings call for Q1 2022, CEO Sundar Pichai gave it to us directly – the Pixel 6 line is the “fastest-selling Pixel ever.”
Pichai did not say how many Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones they sold, but it is a good sign that they have positive information to pass on on their latest phones. We know how split so many reactions have been on these two phones that we have been curious as to whether Google considers them a success or not. Pichai’s words today certainly come out as if they are happy with how things have gone since its launch in late 2021.
In addition to the big Pixel 6 sales news, Pichai also teased upcoming hardware products, which he hopes to share on Google I / O in a few weeks. Before the tease, he first mentioned that Pixel 6 helps push the Pixel brand forward by building consumer awareness, and that this has led to him being “enthusiastic about the products. [they] come and look forward to sharing more on Google I / O. “If we’re talking about the Pixel brand, is that a tip for a Pixel Watch or Pixel 6a unveiling? I certainly hope so.
Here is his full Pixel quote, just so you have it all in one:
Pixel 6 is a big step forward for the Pixel portfolio and it has been great to see the response from Pixel users. It’s the fastest selling Pixel ever. And we build a broad consumer awareness of the brand and make good progress. I’m excited about the products we have on the way and look forward to sharing more on Google I / O.
To sum up, crazy reddit guy will not hear this, but Google sees the Pixel 6 line as a success.
