New Red Dead Redemption 2 update is a disappointment for players

A new one Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead online the update is a disappointment for gamers on Google Stadium, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, who have been desperate for not just new content but a meaningful update. This new update is not. In fact, it is not even relevant for anyone other than those who play open-world western on PC, as the update is only available via PC.

If you are on PC and still playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you will be greeted with a required download for “Update 1.27.” What does this update do? It “updates to improve security by Red Dead online“Is that so? That’s it. Red Dead online – especially on PC – has some major security issues, so this update may make sense for PC players, but without more information on what exactly it does, we can not say this definitively.

The strange thing about the update is that it reportedly requires 4 GB of space, which may indicate that there is more under the hood of the update than the patch notes reveal, as this is a large file size for a security update. That said, data mining has so far not revealed anything interesting stored in the files. Meanwhile, from what we have heard here and there through the vine, Red Dead online and Red Dead Redemption 2 are more or less finished and dusty. It does not mean Red Dead online will not particularly receive support in the future, but as far as we understand, a skeleton team is currently still working on the open world western.

As always, we will keep you updated. Just because data amines have not discovered anything interesting about the update so far, does not mean that this will change tonight, tomorrow or later in the week.
