New Saints Row’s character traits are going incredibly hard

The new one, restarted Saints Row raises character creation to 11. Developer Volition unveiled a new look at customizing players’ Boss characters and the cars (and street-legal pirate ships) they will control in the upcoming game on Wednesday, and that’s … a lot. Volition takes everything from adapting to the new extremes with wild and crazy skin textures, asymmetrical face shapes and cosmetics, a variety of prostheses and much, much more.

Whether your goal is to create a galaxy-skinned cowboy in short shorts, a candy-corn-toothed vampire, a father-bod-guy soaked in body oil, or a store-bought Shrek – or even a digital re-creation of your real-world even – it Saints Row tools for creating characters seem to be ready for the task. Volition showcases a variety of hairstyles and colors, body shapes, age settings, and genital-masking emoji in the trailer above, which is completely crammed with options for Griffin and Justin to fuse with in Monster Factory.

The same level of deep adaptation also includes vehicles and weapons, so if you want your boss to have foam pistols or a El Mariachi-style guitar-case rocket launcher, go for it. Cars, helicopters, jets, golf carts and everything else you can drive in will have the same customizable flair at the body shop known as Jim Rob’s. Your Saints HQ can also be upgraded and customized.

Check out the breadth and depth of character customization in Volition’s Saints Row the trailer above so you do not suffer from paralysis when the game hits PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Windows PC via Epic Games Store on August 23rd.
