Samsung brings Android 12 to a few more aging middle classes

While some companies are still busy update of advanced phones (from 2020) to Google’s 2021 released Android version and others is inexplicable launch new devices powered by the 2020 version of the industry-leading OS, Samsung continues to do what it does best, crushing it absolutely on the software support front.

The world’s leading handset provider is reportedly delivering stable Android 12 treats with proprietary One UI 4.1 tweaks on top of not one but two different mid-end phones a few days after doing the same for Galaxy A32, A32 5G, A42 5G and A71 5G.

Not surprisingly, at least one of these two devices is even more humble than all of the above, having made its commercial debut just under a year ago with Android 11 preloaded on the software side of things, as well as a certain modest set of hardware specifications, including a MediaTek Helio G80 processor and a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels.

Bottom line, 4G LTE only The Galaxy A22 is not a model you would expect to get a lot of love for software support (if it was made by another company) that occupies a lower place in the mobile industry’s food chain than e.g. OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which is set to live the rest of its life on Android 11.
This is a slightly taller but also older member of the very popular Galaxy A family that has seen daylight all the way back in the spring of 2020 with Android 10. Android 12 is thus its second (and almost certainly, last) major upgrade, which definitely raises the expectation level for many users in terms of system stability.

Both the Galaxy A41 and A22 appear to have launched their over-the-air Android 12 rollout in Russia, where more regions will undoubtedly follow soon, and both updates reportedly include April 2022 security fixes, which is good, but maybe not ideal. … in May 2022.
