Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki’s next game has been revealed to be an Apple Arcade release called Air Twister.
Announced on Tuesday, Air Twister is a fantasy 3D shooting game developed by YS Net, the studio responsible for 2019’s Shenmue 3.
The debut trailer for the game, which is set to be released on Apple’s game subscription service on June 24, can be seen below.
“Soar through the skies in this all-new fantasy-endless shooter from legendary game creator Yu Suzuki,” reads the game’s App Store description.
“Players will take on the role of Princess Arch, who fights back against bizarre attackers to save their planet from destruction.
“They will rain down on their target arrows to track graceful arcs across beautiful, artfully crafted scenes before piercing their enemies.
“With a fun and easy touchscreen-swipe-shooting gameplay mechanics, the planet’s fate is in the player’s hands.”

Suzuki discussed the game’s origins in an interview with Axios: “When I went to Apple’s headquarters, we had a chat – and we actually had a really good talk about what if I were to make a really straightforward game you would like to play again and again , as old-fashioned arcades. “
Konami’s Frogger and the Rumbling Ruins on June 3 and Office Create Corps Cooking Mama: Cuisine on June 17 also participate in the Apple Arcade.
Suzuki recently stated that he has no concrete plans for Shenmue 4, but said he wants to make the game more accessible to new players if that happens.
