Splatoon 3 is coming to Switch in September

The octopus kids finally have a release date. Nintendo has announced this Splatoon 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 9th. The colorful shooting game was previously slated to be launched sometime this summer.

Like previous posts in the series, Splatoon 3 is a four-on-four shooting game that is like a cross between paintball and Call of Duty where teams of humanoid creatures called Inklings and Octolings compete to paint a battlefield of a certain color. The lack of violence and vibrant tone has helped set the series apart from the abundance of other competing shooters. The new post will introduce the typical new weapons and stages along with an enhanced co-op experience and what appears to be a much more in-depth single-player campaign.

With the latest delay of the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild until 2023, Splatoon 3 will probably be one of Nintendo’s biggest holiday releases. Nintendo also announced earlier this week that sci-fi RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3which was previously scheduled for a September release would now come on July 29th.
