The Fire Ring courage that never makes you say goodbye is almost here

Recently, YouTuber and modder LukeYui stated it Elden Ring – already a pretty good video game – could be even better with a straightforward tweak: Unlimited co-op. In a few days, the courage will be out in nature and put that idea to the test.

The news comes from LukeYui’s YouTube channel, in the form of a groovy new video showing what people can expect if they take the mod for a ride when it becomes available for public beta testing on Friday, May 27th. For those who are not inclined to modify their game, or those who do not play on PC, there will also be a collection of Twitch streams with a set of bug-chasing alpha testers to check out.

The seamless co-op mod is an unofficial work in progress and will probably run into problems, but the idea behind it is nice: As Elden Ring players know that playing with others in the co-op means that other aspects of the game, such as riding and resting by the fire, are inaccessible during a co-op session. This is in addition Elden Ring‘s strict collaboration limits, which limit the summoning of collaborators to certain areas and automatically reject them once the nearby boss or enemy cave has been cleared.

All of these limitations exist for sensible game balance reasons, as FromSoftware developers are likely to want a challenge still present when they call for help. But playing with others is not always just for playing games – sometimes it’s simply about experiencing them, and it’s always better with company.
