An Elden Ring player accidentally notices an incredible Dark Moon Greatsword detail, even though it does not appear to have been put into the game on purpose.

One recently Elden Ring The Reddit post went viral after user Nuu111 shared a screenshot of what Dark Moon Greatsword looks like when viewed through a ghost. Like other FromSoftware games, the “ghosts” players run around Elden Ring the game world is actually representations of other people who play the game, even though they are transparent, so that players can see through them and keep their view of the game world unobstructed.
When looking at Dark Moon Greatsword through a ghost, the sword actually looks different, where players can essentially see its decorative markings more clearly. It’s a pretty striking new look for Dark Moon Greatsword, but it should be noted that it is highly unlikely that this was a deliberate feature on the part of FromSoftware. As pointed out by Reddit user Prionysus, who commented on the post, this effect is most likely caused by a texture flaw.

Some may be interested in acquiring the sword for themselves, though they should note that getting it is one of the more time consuming things that players can do in the game. The essence of it is that players will have to go through Ranni the Witchs questline to get Dark Moon Greatsword. The specific location is the Cathedral of Manus Celes, however Elden Ring players can not just make a beeline right there and get it because it requires progress in the tasks.
This is not the first interesting detail Elden Ring players have discovered about Dark Moon Greatsword. Although this texture error is not intentional, the connection between Dark Moon Greatsword and Golden Order Greatsword seems to be. Based on the weapon descriptions of both weapons, fans have come to the conclusion that Golden Order Greatsword is an alternative version of Dark Moon Greatsword.
There are probably many other hidden details, conscious or not, still to be found in Elden Rings massive open world, so fans of the game should keep an eye out as they continue to explore the perilous Lands Between.
