Players may need some clues to help them find the right word today, as the puzzle proves to be particularly difficult for some.
The brain teaser, which involves players from all over the world, simply asks users to solve the riddle by guessing a mysterious word of five letters – in six attempts or less.
The game is updated every day with a new word to be worked from scratch. Wordle tries to help users come across the right word by using a color-coded system; each correct letter turns green or yellow if it is in the word but is in the wrong place at the moment, or gray when it is incorrect.
But for players worried about breaking a winning streak, Newsweek has made some helpful tips to help push them in the right direction. Otherwise, the answer is given at the end of this article.
The origin of ‘Wordle’
Game inventor Josh Wardle created the game to play with his partner Palak Shah. He had first started working on it back in 2013 and returned to the game during the pandemic and perfected it.
Wardle published the game in October 2021, and it quickly became a global phenomenon, thanks to its fun premise as a daily brain exercise. It gained more than 45 million users after starting with only 90 active players.
The software engineer sold his game to New York Times for an undisclosed seven-digit amount in January 2022, and the puzzle moved over to the February release. The word game has become so popular that it has inspired a number of other everyday games such as the music-based Heardle and the math-based Nerdle.
