Ubisoft responds to server outages promising “advance notice” prior to closures

Ubisoft has given us a statement after we approached the studio to get a comment earlier in the week explaining that “services have been restored” for more games after what appeared to be “short maintenance”, rather than the unannounced mass server shutdown it looked. to be.

“Some of our games (Anno 2070, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Silent Hunter 5 and Splinter Cell Blacklist) were taken offline for a short maintenance and the services have been restored “ reads the statement provided to us by Ubisoft. “We will provide advance notice before shutting down all online services for our games, and we have updated our support article to reflect this.”

Although not explicitly mentioned in the statement, Assassin’s Creed Revelations also appear to be clear – Ubisoft has again updated its online status page, with only the OnLive version of Revelations now listed as being closed. Several other titles where players had reported connectivity issues, such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Far Cry 2 and Watch Dogs, also do not get a name check or appear on the updated list, so we hope they are safe too and that Ubisoft remains true to his word with advance warning prior to any actual server closures.

Glad to see these Assassin’s Creed endings back on the table? Tell us about it and be sure to drop a comment if you notice any inconsistencies between Ubis’ list and server status for specific games!
