Ubisoft shuts down online servers for dozens of old games

Haze, Halo-killer

Ubisoft has announced the termination of online services for nearly one hundred of its older games. The publisher is obviously doing a bit of housekeeping and shutting down online multiplayer servers for software that, let’s be honest, is well over the last sale date.

Among the list of 90 games are 40 that appear on PlayStation, whether it is PS4, PS3 or even PS2 in one case. It’s Rainbow Six Lockdown if you were curious.

Other games on the list include Rayman Origins, Call of Juarez 2 and 3, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 and a total of 11 Just Dance titles. You can see the full list here.

If anything, it’s quite surprising that most of the games on the list still had multiplayer available. How many still played Haze, I Am Alive and Avatar online on PS3 in 2022? Probably far from enough to justify the cost of keeping these servers running.

The result is, of course, that the games can still be played offline, so you do not lose access to HAWX 2 on PS3 completely. Do you have fond memories of playing these old Ubi games online? Remember in the comments section below.
