If you’re an Xbox owner who’s been in doubt about buying something new from the Microsoft Store, you might want to check your account’s inbox. Microsoft has launched another round of their in-store credit distributions this week, and looks set to deposit $ 5 into people’s accounts to spend on games or other digital products you may want to purchase. There is no indication yet of when this promotion will end, but we already know that the credit has an expiration date, so do not sit on the credit for too long if you are one of the lucky recipients.
News of these $ 5 giveaways was shared on social media this week by those who received the funds and wanted to warn others that they too could have this money pending in their accounts. One of the tweets that received a retweet from Wario64 contained the same text that was used in other posts where people thanked the Xbox for the money that came out of nowhere.

This is not the first time the Xbox has done this kind of thing, and it probably will not be the last, but as in previous times, there is really no indication of what circumstances are in place to control who gets the $ 5 bonus. and who does not. Is it just select Xbox Live Gold subscribers, select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, or is it more random than that? There does not seem to be any way to say it, but $ 5 is small enough of an amount that it is not the case that the Xbox omits people by buying whole games for others.
Of the messages we have seen on social media where people announced that they had received the funds, many of them appear to have been published on May 26, so it looks like that was the start of this latest giveaway , which may mean that if you did not get one then, you can not get one. Although the details of it are still uncertain, we know that the credit itself has an expiration date. The messages received from Xbox indicated that the credit would expire on June 30, meaning you have just over a month to spend the $ 5 if received.
