Good news, Final Fantasy 14 fans – the hugely popular MMO will now run on Steam Deck.
Previously, the game would hang if you tried to launch it on Steam Deck, but now a new fix – in testing at the moment, but being implemented for all systems soon – means that Final Fantasy 14 Online Launcher is operational again.
The latest update also helps ensure that these other games can be played again: Age of Chivalry, Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamer Edition, Saviors of Sapphire Wings / Stranger of Sword City Revisited, Iragon: Prologue, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, Atelier Meruru, Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide, Star Wars Episode I Racer, Gary Grigsby’s War in the East, Gary Grigsby’s War in the West, Beneath a Steel Sky, We Were Here Forever, Cities XXL, Cladun X2, Succubus x Saint, Cursed Armor (Thanks, PCGN).
It also sees that Deathloop’s crash after a long system suspension has been resolved, along with an improvement of the Elden Ring as well – now it should not go down after “prolonged gameplay” as it takes your progress with it.
Problems with Final Fantasy 14’s housing lottery system have now been fixed. Producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, confirmed that although they were “extensive and persistent”, the bugs were fixed earlier in the week when the game was put into maintenance mode.
Therefore, all players – including those who previously thought they had failed and secured refunds – are encouraged to check their bids again, as winning lottery numbers will be displayed correctly and land purchases completed accordingly. All temporary suspensions imposed on land purchases and relocations will also be lifted.
All players have ten days to confirm and complete their land purchase if they are a lottery winner as the next lottery goes live on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
Square Enix recently announced its financial results for the past year, revealing that the company has been kept afloat thanks to the success of Final Fantasy 14.
