BOTW2, or “the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, has a lot to live up to. It’s called “BOTW2” for a reason. After all, Breath of the Wild revolutionized the open world genre. Many of the features now common in open-world gaming were inspired by this Nintendo masterpiece.

The expectation that Breath of the Wild 2 will be at least as good as its precedent-breaking predecessor is a big part of the hype surrounding the game. Players in Breath of the Wild were free to wander the Hylian fields at will and complete plot points in any order they chose. So now the question is: what can we expect from Breath of the Wild 2?

We still do not know much about the plot of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Given the content of the gameplay trailer, it is possible that this is yet another rescue mission, but the villain’s identity and motivation behind the new story remain a mystery. Interestingly enough, some Nintendo patents have been dug up and they seem to shed light on some of the game’s new mechanics. While falling or diving, the player can perform a variety of actions, one of which appears to be related to Link’s new ability to phase through platforms.

While Breath of the Wild is known for its expansive, open landscapes, players can expect to find some new, exploratory terrain above the clouds in this sequel. While this is not the first time Zelda has used remote islands, Alex Donaldson, our Assistant Editor, compares it to the Wind Waker series, where each island has its own set of quests and mini-games that set it apart from the others. It is possible, but it is a hope rather than a security.

Considering that Skyward Sword was canonically the first Zelda story and set farthest back in time, the game seems to draw from its tall design. The similarities with Skyloft and elsewhere in the Skyward Sword can be largely attributed to the floating islands in the sky.

Players, hold on to your hat because things are going crazy (no puns). Several theories about what, who and where the BOTW sequel will be have been flown up since its publication. The best part is that many of them have sound reasoning behind them.

The Zonai tribe and the Typhlo ruins

As for the plot of BOTW2, one theory suggests that Link and Zelda will travel back in time to 10,000 years ago when Ganondorf was captured by Zonai. Skyward Swords floating islands, different monsters and different structures would all fit into this theory.

The Typhlo ruins and Faron ruins of Breath of the Wild were built by Zonai, a ‘warlike’ and magic-using tribe who lived in Hyrule. Like the BOTW2 trailer, these have motifs and brick patterns that have a striking resemblance. The link may be able to find out where the Zonai went, or if they left at all, by traveling to that place.

Twilight Princess and the Twili People

The Twili race from the previous game, Twilight Princess, is the subject of a mix of theories. There have been visual similarities between the two trailers released by Nintendo; the bright blue-green colors have been used primarily in connection with Twili and their magic, as well as the strange symbols floating in the air that resemble Twili symbols.

That is what this theory suggests, and it points to a possible Twili presence in history or at least a role in it.

The Face of Evil

According to another theory, Ganondorf may be associated with Link. Consider for a moment that the mummy is Ganondorf.

It’s possible, but is it true? It has been suggested that the angry-looking character is not Ganondorf at all, but rather Link by a Reddit user. One who appears in a tapestry depicting the original battle between Calamity Ganon and Hyrule’s armies, to be exact Link becomes Ganondorf after he falls victim to Malice, according to a popular theory about the world of trailers. To be fair, there are some visual similarities between the two.

We have only scratched the surface of the BOTW 2 theory rabbit hole, and we strongly encourage you to dive deeper into it. All of this, of course, can be a complete waste of time and effort on the part of game designers. That does not sound right to us.

Breath Of The Wild 2 Release Date

Breath of the Wild 2 is now expected to be released in the spring of 2023 following an announcement from Nintendo in late March. Yet the exact date has not yet been announced.

It is possible that the recent announcement that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be released in late 2022 has something to do with the current delay. It’s not uncommon for two major Switch games to be released at the same time, so the postponement to 2023 is not entirely shocking.

It’s not uncommon for new installments in popular franchises to be exclusive to a single Nintendo console.

Breath Of The Wild 2 pre-orders

Pre-orders regarding Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 are available, but the number is small. Many other popular game retailers are expected to publish their own ads at some point in the future. To get your hands on a copy of the game in advance, click on one of the links below.

A quick reminder: Do not be fooled by the “placeholder” dates. The exact release date has not yet been determined. Nintendo promised investors in February 2022 that Breath of the Wild 2 would be released in 2022, but that promise has since been withdrawn. Breath Of The Wild 2’s name

There is no such thing as Breath of the Wild 2. Since its release, fans have referred to it as a sequel. Like other Zelda games, the sequel appears to have a subtitle (The Legend of Zelda: Insert Subtitle Here).

According to Nintendo’s Marketing Manager Bill Trinen in an interview with IGN, the subtitle could spoil the plot of the upcoming game. Nintendo As a result, the team decided to postpone the release of the full title to keep the mystery alive for a little longer.

It is referred to as “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 sequel “internally by Nintendo. Official materials, such as the trailer, use this name. As a result, Trinen and the other Nintendo Treehouse representatives seemed indifferent to the public naming conventions for the Breath of the Wild sequel.
