Creepy man whispered ‘can I tear the sheets down?’ on my sleep app

A mother has told of her horror after hearing the voice of a mysterious man whisper “Can I tear the sheets down?” on her sleep app.

Robyn Esplin says she is “completely startled” after her phone caught her voice as she slept alone in her home in Cramlington, Northumberland.

She shares the property with her 8-year-old son and two dogs, reports ChronicleLive.

But the ShutEye sleep app seems to have captivated a man with a Cockney accent with a creepy comment at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday morning. In the same shot, Robyn’s pug, Alan, starts barking before the clip is cut out.

Robyn said she has been scared to sleep at night.

“I do not know if I should laugh or cry,” the 28-year-old said.

“It’s scared me completely and I’ll be scared to go to bed now.

“It’s definitely a male voice, it’s clear as day, but there’s no one here like it could have been, and I do not know anyone with a Cockney accent.

“I’ve listened to it over and over again and tried to figure out how it’s been picked up.

“What gets me is that it’s definitely Alan’s barking at the end of the clip, so he’s heard something to bark. If there’s any noise, he’s starting to yawn away, otherwise he’s sleeping well – I just can not get my head around it. “

Robyn had only downloaded the app on Monday night after learning about it in a Facebook ad. ShutEye, which costs more than $ 37.67 a month for a premium subscription, claims it records sleep quality and all sounds during the night.

The caseworker woke up before her alarm Tuesday and checked the recording. It had captured a number of sounds, including Alan’s snoring, all of which were accurate.

But her interest turned to fear after she heard the voice. She has since contacted the app’s development team, but has not yet received a response.

She said: “I saw the recording during ‘sleep conversation’ and it took me forever to figure out what was written, but now I realize it’s clear as day.

Mother’s horror

“Only me is in the bedroom and I have two small dogs and my son who slept in his own room. The TV was not on or anything, so I’m completely freaked out. “

Robyn says she locks all the doors at night and nothing appears to have been moved inside the house. She plans to set up a camera to help her solve the mystery.

Sun Online has contacted ShutEye for a comment.

This is not the only bad review of the app online.

A user said she called police after hearing two men whisper in a recording at 4:45 p.m.

“You could hear one of them say, ‘Did you put it in the bag?’ The other said “Yes,” she said.

“I’m a single woman living alone.”

Police searched her house and the woman complained to the app’s developers, but claim she did not hear anything for three days before receiving an email saying her feedback was passed on.
