iPhone 14 Pro can get a unique design change compared to the other iPhone 14 models, if one is to believe a new set of renderings. And what’s more, the entire iPhone series can get Apple’s downloadable purple color option.
Let’s first address the iPhone 14 Pro design rumor. According to Front Page Tech render artist Ian Zelbo, writes for AppleTrack, the Pro model could get more rounded corners on both body and screen. However, this change will be reserved for standard Pro, where the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone 14 base model and the rumored new iPhone 14 Max are all missing.
The reason for this design change would apparently be to make the radius of the corners of the screen look like those on the rear camera bump, which in itself is thought to be larger to accommodate a new 48MP main camera sensor on the Pro models.
If you check the back of the base iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, you will see the corners of their bodies arc in the same way that the camera block does. However, this is not the case with the Pro models.
If true, it would be another difference between the Pro and Non-Pro models, joining the many others outlined in our iPhone 14 vs iPhone 14 Pro preview.
Of course, this time there will also be a distinction between standard Pro and Pro Max, which seems surprising, but no matter what, the new look is set to appear on the Front Page Tech channel in the near future, so we’ll look with interest.
Purple color option and a new flash
In other iPhone 14 news, we may get a new purple color option to choose from, based on a deleted Weibo post seen by ShrimpApplePro and AppleTrack, plus Twitter user SaranByte.
According to the now removed post, the standard iPhone 14 comes in Midnight, Starlight and Product Red shades, just like the iPhone 13, but with this new purple option and a sky blue tone that replaces the current deeper blue.
For the Pro models, there will apparently be graphite, silver and gold as usual along with a darker purple, probably with a matte finish like the others.
On top of this, there is reportedly a new flash module design for the rear camera. The current iPhone flash includes two circular lenses within the overall circle of the module, but the new one will apparently have two concentric circles instead. However, it is not clear why Apple would make this change – if it actually is.
There are many more design changes to this year’s iPhone in addition to these latest rumors. For example, we should also see thinner frames around the screen, plus a pill and hole notch on the Pro models to replace the existing cutout.
We will not find out if these rumors are true for several months, with Apple’s new flagship series not expected until September. But in the meantime, be sure to check in on our iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro hubs to get the latest news and leaks.
