JGOD reveals why Vargo 52 still dominates the Warzone despite season 3 nerf

Warzone expert and YouTuber JGOD has explained why Vargo 52 is still an incredibly strong choice in CoD’s battle royale, despite Black Ops Cold War AR being nervous with the season 3 update.

As has become standard practice with Warzone, the seasonal updates provide the greatest opportunity for meta-switching and game balancing.

That turned out to be true on April 27, when the season 3 update dropped, bringing major changes to both the Caldera and the game’s pool of weapons. Most snipers were weakened significantly, and other weapons, such as the Black Ops Cold War Vargo 52, were also on the nerves.

However, Warzone guru JGOD has now waded into the Vargo 52 discussion, claiming that nerf basically does not exist.

Vargo 52 thrives on medium to long range.

In a YouTube video on April 29, he explained that the nerve can actually constitute a buff because of how it has affected Black Ops Cold War AR.

Referring to Vargo’s nerf with air quotes, JGOD said, “I say ‘nerf’ because all they did was change the recoil pattern, which I personally feel is a little easier to control.”

Recoil in Warzone tends to be a mix of vertical and horizontal, but when a weapon’s kick sways more towards one than the other, it can actually be easier to control because the target only needs to be pulled in one direction. That is, in JGOD’s opinion, what happened to Vargo.

After explaining why nerf might not be what it seems, JGOD outlined his go-to loadout after the season 3 update. It’s pretty standard, seeking to improve range and magazine size while handling recoil .

  • Muzzle: Gru Suppresses
  • Barrel: 18.6 “Task Force
  • Optics: Axial arm 3x
  • Underflow: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Magazine: 60 Round Mag

The Vargo could still be in for more nerves depending on how season 3 develops, but so far it is still a very strong option in the medium to long range.
