It’s been a while since we’ve seen a good Google Pixel Fold leak, but it looks like Google may still be toying with the idea of releasing a foldable Pixel sometime in the future. Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), teased an upcoming announcement that is set to be released at a DSCC conference next week. Young says that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Pixel Fold will have the same size interior screens, but the image format will be quite different.
In addition, Young continued Twitter that the Google Pixel Fold will have a 5.8-inch outer screen that will be much wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s notorious 6.19-inch outer screen. From what we can tell, the Z Fold 4 is an additional tweaked version of the current Z Fold 3 and has a similar aspect ratio and screen size as Samsung’s 3rd generation larger foldable phone.
Since the Pixel Fold will have a shorter and wider aspect ratio, it is quite likely that the larger inner screen will be closer to a 16: 9 aspect ratio, just like the OPPO Find N. This is not the first time we have heard that the Pixel Fold will be closer to the size and shape of the OPPO Find N rather than a thinner, higher foldable phone like the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unlike most of the best foldable phones right now, it is also said that the Pixel Fold does not have a display fold in the middle . It’s similar to OPPO Find N.
Young says more details will emerge at that week’s DSCC conference. At the very least, we’re pretty confident at this point that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will not have an S-Pen slot, nor is it likely that Google will send a stylus with a potential Pixel Fold.
