First came Wordle, then came Wordle clones, and now come the clones of Wordle clones. Heardlea daily puzzle that makes you guess the name of a song based on just listening to a few seconds of its intro is one of the more popular games like Wordle we have come across and it has become so famous among puzzle lovers that it also now has some imitators.
If you are a music connoisseur, especially when it comes to video game music, you should enjoy your ears Video game Heardle. It’s not that imaginatively named, and it’s similar to Heardle – it even admits to being a direct clone of the “About” tab – but it’s filled with video game music instead of pop songs that you can guess. Put on some headphones and get ready to give your ears a challenge.
As with Heardle, you start by listening to only a single second of the track. If your guess is wrong (or if you just want to skip that turn), unlock for another second of the intro. You have six guesses in total, after which the answer is revealed along with the entire number. Even the most dedicated music fans of video games would probably have trouble naming specific tracks, but luckily in Videogame Heardle, all you need to guess the game from is not the actual title of the song. There’s a new puzzle every day, and even though I’ve only played today’s, I can confirm that it really is a banger.
It’s also fun to track the creation of the Videogame Heardle. It is described as a clone of Joywave Heardlewhereas Joywave Heardle says it’s a clone of K-Pop Heardle, and then K-Pop Heardle calls itself a “respectful clone” of Heardle, which itself says is a “respectful tribute to Wordle.” It’s the longest track of clones since Star Wars Episode 2.
