PS5 controllers have just become much more usable on PC

If you are a PlayStation 5 owner, you probably know the hassle of having to connect to your console to update the firmware of your DualSense controller. This is especially troublesome if you happen to be a PC player who prefers the feel of DualSense over keyboard and mouse.

As of today, it is no longer an issue as Sony Interactive Entertainment announced On Wednesday, PC gamers will now be able to update the firmware on their DualSense wireless controllers using Windows 11 and “select Windows 10 devices”, without having to connect to a PS5.

On a page dedicated to the announcement, Sony outlines the steps players need to take to update their controllers via their Windows PC, including downloading the Sony firmware update app and connecting their wireless controller using a USB cable.

Players will be periodically notified of new firmware updates and asked to update their controllers to the latest version via the firmware app.
