SEGA reportedly seeks to produce “big-budget reboots” of the classic franchises Jet Set radio and Crazy taxi.

As reported by Bloomberg (cheers, Gematsu!), The company aims to pursue people like Fortnite in terms of popularity. The reboots are said to be the first in SEGA’s “Super Game” initiative, which the company announced last year as a way to generate recurring revenue streams and cultivate online communities.

Fornite has been a huge success for Epic Games over the last few years. Since the title is free to play and available on most major platforms, it’s easy to see why SEGA wants to emulate its success. Using recognizable names like Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio seems like a solid way to start.

SEGA is clearly betting heavily on their so-called “Super Games”, after partnering with Microsoft in 2021 to use their advanced technology to help “promote game development”.

We keep our expectations in check with this one, but an online Crazy Taxi game sounds pretty cool if you ask us!
