If you somehow missed it, it looks like the Nintendo Switch may add Game Boy titles to its online service in the near future.

Following on from the initial “leak”, a list of games that are apparently being tested for the service has now appeared online. The games in yellow (below) have reportedly been in the ROM folder “at some point”, but have not appeared in the leaked build of the GBA emulator known as “Sloop”.

“The library of GBA games they’ve tested for this thing is massive. Tested is the key word; does not mean they all actually start on the service. Yellow = in the rom directory at some point, but not in the leaked build. However, there is another game with proof of being tested- “

The same source also notes how Pokémon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald link cable emulation probably took place – with multiple screenshots of different bearer screens.

“There are several screenshots of various bearer screens from Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald stored in the emulator; most likely taken during link cable emulation testing.”

While there is not quite that much to talk about regarding Game Boy and Game Boy Color, each game is a separate app. Those so far include Super Mario Land, Link’s Awakening DX, Tetris and Qix.

“However, there is not much to talk about with GB (C). The construction of Hiyoko we have here is in an earlier state than Sloop; each game is a separate app, and there are only four of them: Super Mario Land, Link’s Awakening DX, Tetris, Qix “

If we hear other developments, we will make sure to let you know.
