Replace update now (version 14.1.1), patch notes

change update 14.1.1

It’s time to update your Switch again as Nintendo has just started distributing firmware version 14.1.1

Since this is a minor update, the patch notes are quite small. Nintendo only says: “General system stability improvements to improve the user experience.” As usual, Big N did not go into detail.

The 14.1.1 update for Switch follows version 14.1.0, which was made available at the beginning of the month. It included new “Platinum Points Notification Settings” where users can be notified of uncollected points as part of the My Nintendo Rewards program. The full patch notes are available here.

The last major firmware update for Switch was version 14.0.0 in March. It led to the addition of groups, Nintendo’s responses to folders. This feature allows you to arrange and organize software on a specific section of the Switch start menu. You can find more information, including the patch notes for version 14.0.0 here.

As for Switch update version 14.1.1, it should eventually come out to all system owners. That said, you can manually download the patch now. Visit the system settings, scroll all the way down to the “System” tab, and select “System Update” to start the process.
