While Samsung has released the Android 12 update for all its high-end phones and most of its mid-range phones, the company has not yet released the update for its entry-level phones. That may soon change with the Galaxy A12.

The South Korean company was soon able to release the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update for the Galaxy A12. Samsung has started testing the update internally in India (INS) with firmware version A125FXXU2CVD5, and we’ve seen signs of this firmware on the company’s servers. When Samsung releases the update, the Galaxy A12 may get a newer version of the Android security patch.

The Android 12 update should bring a redesigned UI design with the Color Palette feature, better widget styling, more widget options and an improved widget selector UI. The update may also bring a cleaner UI design to the camera app and many other stock apps.

However, entry-level and mid-range phones do not get the Smart Widgets feature, something that is present on the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series phones running One UI 4.1.

The update may also include privacy indicators for active use of camera and microphone, quick setting changes to enable / disable the camera and microphone across the system, and a Privacy Dashboard. Samsung could also bring more accessibility options and an improved Samsung keyboard.
