The 10 best Android apps to track the movies and series you’ve seen

If you love watching a large number of movies and TV shows, you know how difficult it can be to keep track of everything you’ve seen. You might stumble across an interesting movie on Netflix, get ten minutes in and find out that it seems familiar – is that something you saw many years ago?

1. Mailbox

Letterboxd is the de facto movie tracking app. It has an excellent, clean interface, which makes the app easy to navigate. You can browse popular movies of the week, view user lists or search directly for anything. When watching a movie page, press plus icon and select Watch to mark it as seen.

You can also press Review or logwhich allows you to rate the movie out of five, write a review and also add it to your movie diary so you know what date you watched it.

Letterboxd has a great community, so be sure to review other people’s reviews and connect with your friends so you can compare what you’ve seen. It also has an iOS app, which makes Letterboxd one of the best iPhone apps for tracking movie sets.

2. TV time

TV Time is not just for TV. It’s also great for tracking movies. In fact, one of the best features of this app is that it uses your watch history to give recommendations on what you might want to check out next time.

To mark something as seen, just navigate to that program or movie page and press tick. You can then provide other information if you want it, like where you saw it, your assessment, how it made you feel, and even your favorite character.

3. IMDb

Every movie lover who is worth salt knows about IMDb. One of the IMDb features you may have overlooked is its mobile app, which lets you track the movies you’ve seen. For a quick method, navigate to the movie page and press Watchlist. This saves the movie in the default list.

For greater control, move to your profile and press Create a list. When done, open the list, press plus iconand you can then start searching for movies to add to the list.

4. JustWatch

If you want to find out what’s coming on streaming services, or which one is hosting a movie you want to watch, then the JustWatch app is for you. But most importantly, it also lets you track what you’ve seen.

Simply navigate to the movie page and press set. You can then give a thumbs up or down to quickly rate it if desired. To browse this list, navigate to Watchlist tab, select Movieand then select set.

5. Filmbase

Moviebase is another great app for tracking the movies you’ve seen on Android. From the start page, you can scroll between different sections such as Trending and Playing now. Once you have found the movie you want to track, view its details and press plus icon. If you have the premium version, you can enter the time you saw it, otherwise press Right now.

To see your list, go to Profile fanen. Below Listschoose History. Use Sort by button at the top right to change the order in which the movies are displayed.

6. Series guide

If you just want a great app that lets you track what you’ve seen without much other excitement, SeriesGuide is for you. It does its job perfectly. Just press Set set button on a movie page and it will be saved on your So list.

7. CineTrak

CineTrak has some simple yet amazing features that make it a great Android app for tracking your watched movies. When you are on a movie page, press plus icon. You choose Add to Monitoredthen select when you saw it and the movie will record on your list.

Alternatively, you can choose Check-in. This marks you watching the movie and sets a timer based on its running time that you can share with your friends. Another great feature is that you can mark something as seen more than once, and the count is recorded in relation to the movie on your list.

8. Hobi

If you’re looking for an Android app to track only the TV shows you’ve seen, give Hobi a go. When you’re on a TV show’s information page, select the season. Here you can check each episode as you watch it, with a status bar at the top to indicate your overall seasonal progress.

To get some interesting insights into your viewing habits, switch to Statistics tab where you can see the total time spent watching, favorite genre, number of episodes watched and more.

9. Reelgood

Reelgood is a wonderful app for checking which movies are available to stream. You can also use it as a way to track the movies and TV shows you have seen. Navigate to the media page, press seen itand the work done.

To view your viewing history, go to See next tab and scroll down. It separates your story in Look at your services (streaming services you said you subscribe to) and Not looking at your services.

Finally, Showly is another great tracking app for both movies and shows. When viewing the details of a movie or program, press Add to my movies to track it on the default list that you can view Collection fanen.

Alternatively, you can choose Manage lists > Create list to add your own custom list if you want to keep the default list as a tracker for other purposes.
