Among them many changes buried in Elden Ring‘s latest patch, you go back to the beginning of the game. Like many games, Elden Ring offers one battle tutorial shortly after creating your Tarnished near the start of the game. Unlike most games, the guide is a side road that is so easy to miss that many players went into the punishing adventure without even knowing how to do basic things, like which button to press to use elements. Well, it turns out that FromSoftware has now added a pop-up message pointing to that area so you do not miss it this time.

That new update make several adjustments to the game, such as sharpening the huge colossal swords and adjusting the stats for different spells. However, you will not find any mention of the combat guide, The Cave of Knowledge, in the patch notes. It seems to be a passive, unpretentious addition as it took people like Souls YouTuber Lance McDonald to second to it before anyone even knew there was this new message that told you about that place.

According to McDonald, the popup points “more explicitly” to the Knowledge Cave. It is this cave in Stranded Graveyard where you learn mechanics like blocking, stealth, stance-breaking and other tactics to survive in Lands Between. However, Knowledge Cave is easy to miss. It’s on the right and you have to fall into a hole. That hole is typically surrounded by troll messages, where people warn that you can die if you go down there. The area is also lit by just a ghost in a chair that has a kind of ominous aura, and that’s it. That means even if you do see it, some players may be afraid to jump into the unknown hole. With this new patch you will now see a message informing you that there is not only solid ground in the dark abyss that the ghost overlooks, but also the cave is the Cave of Knowledge. You just have to trust the game and jump.

A Twitter user named gibbed shared an English version of message, which makes it clearer what you are learning from the Knowledge Cave if you were to go there. It’s not hard, and the area’s end boss, Soldier of Godrick, is a slut. But it’s a good way to understand Elden Ring before desperately trying to summon Let me solo her to help the bullies.
