Pyha! It’s been a whole week, right? It actually feels like spring now at least, but our eyes are on the summer with the new release dates we’ve been handed out. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been brought forward from September to July! Unheard of things. Splatoon 3 also finally has a release date – a very nice 9th of September. Oh, and Sonic Origins is also locked in on June 23, but not without some controversy about these pre-orders. And even though it’s been rumors for ages, we’ve got more concrete evidence that Game Boy and GBA games are likely to come to Nintendo Switch Online at some point.
Now it’s time to relax and discuss our weekend game plans. Et par members of the Nintendo Life team has done just that below, so feel free to read our contribution and then join in with your own via our comments section. Enjoy!

I’m finishing a review of Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles this weekend, but my early thoughts are that it’s a nice and clever puzzle. When I’m not working on finishing, I’ll continue my journey through Triangle Strategy, which is great for downtime and getting the old chess brain working a bit.
Elsewhere I just started on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, where I finished a steady run through the prequel trilogy. It’s really good so far, just entertaining Indiana Jones-style popcorn game. It also has more focus on puzzles and digging than combat, which is fine by me!

Hey folks! This weekend my family and I are taking a short break in Wales. Does that mean there will be no game? Hahaha, of course not; I’m taking my Switch with me. I recently played The Sinking City on PS5 and I enjoyed it so much that I also decided to launch it on Switch! The tone and narrative is right up my street, so I look forward to putting my teeth into it.

My game this weekend will be completely impacted by this week’s news. The whole Sonic Origins thing has made me completely re-play some classic Sonic. Sonic Mania is on the table, of course – it’s the best after all. My release date GameCube is also connected, so I plan to dig out the Sonic Mega Collection so I can play through these classics without the pre-order discussion baggage.
I’ve also had an ongoing review of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition burning since … it came out. So I should probably go back to that. Don’t worry, I’ve played through the Xenoblade Chronicles before – 100% even – but I left my Switch playthrough in limbo at Eryth Sea. Am I telling myself not to do every sidequest? Yes. Am I listening? Ask again in a week.

This week, while I’ve been sick, I’ve been playing a LOT of Slay The Spire. However, I still have not Slayed the Spire, so wish me luck with my next Ironclad race!
Also more Elden Ring. We still have no idea what’s going on. People keep talking about fingers, which is super weird, and everyone really has the same names as Godrick and Godwin and Godtopher, which makes the story super hard to follow!

This weekend will be another grave in the old backlog! I have a bad habit of playing about halfway through a game, and then dropping it when something new and shiny comes out … Planning to pull Luigi’s Mansion 3, Paper Mario: The Origami King, New Pokémon Snap and Pokémon Shining Pearl out. But still sets in motion Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Triangle Strategy. As always, lots to play!

Hello. This weekend I have to polish off some excellent stuff in the excellent Switch port in Zombie Army 4: Dead War. I really enjoyed blasting through this one again on Switch and just got a few stickers left to pick up to complete my album and 100% all collectibles.
Elsewhere, I’ve taken advice from trusted friends and picked up both The House in Fata Morgana and Shadowverse: Champions Battle, so I’ll definitely have plenty to keep me busy for the next few days. Have a great weekend no matter what you do or play!

Still messing around a lot A500 Miniwith an evil ongoing Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe League still scrubbing at the bottom Division 2 but with a selection of swapped star players added to the list, things are looking up. Late battle Kirby and the Forgotten Land along with physical arrivals of Haven and Rigid Force Redux provide entertainment this weekend.
Game of the Week Arcade Archives Gaplus (aka Galaga 3 in USA). I used to be so much better at it … my gamer pride has been offended by my poor performance since this week’s re-release, so it’s time to return to it this weekend.
As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
