AMC Theaters, a US pro-crypto cinema chain, updated its mobile app services to accept Dogecoin (DOGE), Shibu Inu (SHIB) and other cryptocurrencies as payment across the United States.
AMC Theaters first began accepting cryptocurrencies back on November 12, 2022, enabling customers to purchase cinema tickets online using Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).
January 6, 2022, Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theaters, promised users via a tweet to include meme tokens DOGE and SHIB by March. While Aaron’s team was a little late, it delivered.
Just as promised, the AMC mobile app for AMC’s US theaters now accepts online payments using Doge Coin, Shiba Inu and other cryptocurrencies – thanks to Bitpay. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paypal. To do so, you must first update to the latest version of our app. pic.twitter.com/MMy7SIxYbl

In the announcement, Aron revealed that AMC Theaters’ iOS and Android mobile apps could accept cryptocurrencies via integration with BitPay, a bitcoin payment service provider.
However, the names of the other recently supported cryptocurrencies have not yet been revealed. To use the feature, US users are advised to download the latest version of the mobile app.
